Molly R. Soiffer

Partner

“One of the reasons that I decided to practice estate planning was seeing how this planning (or lack thereof) has affected my own extended family.  That experience instilled in me the strong belief that preserving a family’s legacy is an enduring gift to those who matter most.  Being part of a firm that has the expertise to give such a gift is why I became a lawyer.”

Molly helps people plan for the future.  She structures her representation around her clients’ needs and goals, whether the concern is tax planning, care of beloved family pet, philanthropy, the prospect of family disharmony, or protecting future generations.  Molly focuses addressing and incorporating her client’s unique concerns into the planning process.   Not only is she deeply committed to the needs of her clients during the estate planning process, Molly also advises and assists families during the administration of an estate after the death of a loved one, often breaking down complicated legal and tax concepts for her clients, Molly is regularly trusted by her clients to serve as trustee and personal representative in their plans.

In addition to her private practice work, Molly is very active in the Boston area trusts and estate community.  She regularly lectures to other lawyers for Massachusetts Continuing Legal Educations and for Social Law Library and contributes articles to national journals regularly.  She also lectures on ethics (focused on tax attorneys) at the Boston University Law School LL.M Program.  One particular area of interest for Molly is the effect of the Massachusetts estate tax on the non-resident who has Massachusetts property and she has done extensive lecturing and writing on this issue.
